nissan /tohatsu upgrade

i have a nissan 2.5a (2005 2stroke/ no transmission). i believe it can be upgraded to 3.5 hp. does anybody (elvin) know what the difference between these two motors is? is it just a new prop and main jet or is more involved? thanks - scott

You can download a free parts book from our website and compare parts, but I can tell you now it isn't cost effective.

thanks for the reply. i could not find a parts manual download on your site - directions? I talked to a local guy and he said the only difference was the carb and maybe the prop. is this the straight skinny? thanks - scott

There ia a big image on our home page that says Download here. The carb is the difference, but it's 17% of the cost of the engine.

swap carbs and you gain 1hp. is this possible on the 3.5? that extra boost would be great.

Nooooooo, the 2.5 is the 3.5 with a restricted carb.
