This thread is close enough for me to ask the question: (getting closer to 40TLDI purchase now).

Dealer told me for some small boat marsh fishing tiller applications/customers they like to rig up a 2button external TnT switch for the tiller owners that don't like having it way back behind the throttle. He mentioned there were another? set of 3wires tucked away somewhere that could be utilized externally as/if needed. Inasmuch as I would love to have the TnT switch at my thumb on the tiller ( like Yamaha), I would think I could like another switch mounted on the bench seat very handy for my right hand, somewhere where the bench meets the gunnel, in area where the right hand is usually resting anyway.

Any comments on this?

Any other kits out there I need to check out?

I have to add this dealer was very knowledgeable about the Nissan/Tohatsu, and has done this many times with very satisfied customers.

Yes, you will be fine. The motor's wiring harness should accommodate an SPDT momentary-action switch. It would connect to the same connectors as the RC box tilt wiring.
