Re: nissan outboard

2 or 3 cyl? Nissan/Tohatsu made both. I can vouch for the 2cyl. It has held up very well. Ours is an early 80's. Our motor has only seen routine maintainance, outside of a carb and fuel pump kit, which was more pre-emptive than actually needing it. I also have a '97 Nissan 18E. Basicly same story, except haven't done a carb kit yet.

The price seems a little high for the 2 cyl, but it is all on condition of the motor. I believe they sold new back then for around $3000. If it has seen salt water, deduct more points/dollars. Also, does controls and gas tank come with it?
