nissan outboard

thinking of buying a kicker motor maybe a nissan 9.9 not sure about a 4 stroke or 2 has anyone had a nissan and if so how are they.

Dan,<br /><br />A Nissan can be either two or four stroke. Depends on the year.<br /><br />Generally, they are a very durable outboard.

Dan,<br /><br />Welcome to the Boards... <br /><br />The Nissan/Tohatsu line is a very dependable line of no-frills inexpensive outboards. You can tell by the number of problems listed on this board. We have almost 30 thousand members on these forums and the forums have been around for a couple of years. In that time you'll only find a hundred or so posts regarding Tohatsu's. Its not that people dont have them, its simply that they're not causing any serious problems.<br /><br />2 or 4 stroke, your choice, but I dont think you'll go wrong with either. One thing to keep in mind is a good dealer nearby. Eventually it will need service and a dealer you are comfortable with is very important.<br /><br />Enjoy,<br />Nav
