I have a 2002 Nissan NSF18B2EF1 18hp 4-stroke outboard that has gone through two (pairs) of powerhead base gaskets in less than 25 hours of running time. The most recent set only lasted about 7 hours. Inspection of the gaskets reveals deterioration of the gaskets around the exhaust port and almost looks like the powerhead bolts were over torqued. Can anyone confirm the torque specification for the powerhead mounting bolts?<br /><br />Note: The original gaskets didn't have any sealer on them. I used Permatex Copper Spray-A-Gasket Hi Temp Adhesive on the second set. Anyone have a better recommendation? <br /><br />Thanks in advance,<br />Bruce
