The boat is a 1992 KingFisher equiped with a Nissan NS60A 2 stroke outboard motor.
Last time in the water we had trouble with reverse. It went into reverse (little grinding) but wouldn't move in that direction. I believe the gears weren't engaged. This could be a shift linkage issue, but finding the right components to adjust is a problem (manual on the way). Any ideas?
Also: Taking a look at the propeller we find that the "propeller shaft housing" is damaged. The two bolts that secure the housing to the lower unit are cracked (read: broken completely) at both bolts. The housing itself might not be where it needs to be (allignment).
Where can I get this replacement part and what's the difficulty rating on replacing this? I've been on Google for a while now searching and there are NO service shops within 75-100 miles of me.
Any help is appreciated.
*I believe the replacement part # is: 3A360-1010M *
