Just purchased a new impeller for my Nissan/Tohatsu NS5B 2-stroke/5hp outboard. The official Parts Catalog lists it as part number 369650211M, with outer diameter of 33.58mm. However, the housing where the impeller sits has diameter of exactly 30mm. The impeller can only be forced in with considerable bend of its blades. A smaller diameter impeller is nowhere to be found. I would appreciate it if someone with more experience than myself would explain whether I have to force the new impeller in or keep searching for the one with a smaller outer diameter. Thanks.

Is the correct part. Put some soapy water on it when installing, and NEVER run dry.
I always do a complete wp kit, because it's the same labor, and it pumps better and lasts longer.

If the impeller were to fit loose, there won't be any water being pumped up motor. Apply soapy water on impeller and under impeller housing, sit housing on top impeller, rotate CW the drive shaft with hand while pushing it downward till locks in place, tight all bolts firm.
