Hey everyone. I have a Nissan ns40cep. When you go past 1/4 throttle the engine cuts out like a rev limiter would. When you disconnect the battery cable from the battery the engine revs a little higher but still cuts out. Also the voltage at the battery cable while disconnected is 27 volts. Does that sound normal? Has anyone had this problem? Does anyone know where I can get a service Manual? Thanks in advance

Welcome to Iboats,

What does the CEP stands for. Probably the Exciter Coil or the rectifier are shot. Will need a multimeter with DVA reading capabilities to check Exciter Coil output along DC readings to check rectifier output.

Happy Boating

NS is Nissan. 40 is the hp. C is the sub-model (2-cylinder in this case). E is for electric start. P is for Pleasure (remote control). The motor may or may not have external coil.

Service manual is Part #: 003-21035-1. $50.00.
