The magnets came out of my flywheel cup and destroyed my alternator and exciter coils. I have replaced the coil plate assembly and flywheel with new ones. But I dont get any spark. Assuming I didnt get a dud coil plate assembly, the remaining items to check are the CD Unit, kill button, and the ignition coil. I have the single ignition coil that fires both cylinders.

What is the troubleshooting procedure for the ignition coil?

Ohm test is in the Factory service manual. What voltage do you get going to the CD at cranking? What HV side do you see? Is the kill switch "open" when trying to start? There is a complete section in the Factory service manual on ignition.

I'm getting about 150 vdc going to the CD. The kill switch is normally open and closes when pushed. I don't have the factory service manual, hence, the request.

I found the factory service manual online. It clearly states the secondary should have between 4.1k to 6.1k ohms. I have an open circuit. So I at least know the coil is bad.
