does anyone know if a 86/87nissan ns70hp-a outboard has a stater?does this charge the batts?what is it? I've looked into this a little more and found info about a rectifier,is this what my type of outboard uses to charge batts?I'm not to sure about this if someone could explain how the charging works on a nissan o.b. of this era and if it can charge batts while running?I would appreciate any help thanks.........

No stator on Nissan/Tohatsu engines. There is an altenator coil under the flywheel that sends AC current to the rectifier where it is converted to DC current. That juice then flows to your battery where it provides around 5.5 amps per hour.
