The friend of my father that owns a boat shop/boat rental/marina in Rockport, TX had a customer of his buy a brand new suzuki 140 for his boat. He had a good running 90hp 1995 Nissan on it, but he thought it was underpowered, so he decided to get a new 140.

Well, The guy now has the nissan for sale. He said he was going to ask 900 for it, but he'll sell it to me for $500, with 2 props. One 3 blade SS prop, and one 4 blade SS prop. (he said these two alone are worth $500, and they looked perfect).

The ONLY thing wrong with the engine is the steering shaft is frozen in the cylinder. The guy who traded it in was using a hydraulic setup, so the factory one froze up.

Is it worth the $500? I think this is the best I can do.. (best i've done so far, as well).

The weather's warming, I want/need to get a motor soon!

Shawn

Dont know a thing about nissans but that sounds like a very good price for a 90 hp motor.

Take it and run!!! I work for a nissan/tohatsu dealer. Great motors! even if ya have to replace the tilt tube, still very worth it.

goona have to look it up tomorrow for ya, but off the top of my head, around 70 bucks, then add about another 10 bucks or so for new bushings.

ShawnQ,

If you are planning on putting that motor on your OD18, make sure that you do a good job on fiberglassing your transom. I would also suggest that you get some aluminum plating to put on the inside of the clamping board and on the outside of your transom.

cvlngineer

that one wont go onto the OD18 (way too much motor, from what I've heard). If i can't find a smaller motor by the time I start the building, then I'll just have to build a phantom! (DARN!hehe)

Thanks for the heads up, picking it up tomorrow.

Shawn
