I have a 1989 Nissan NS90A outboard. replaced what i thought were bad tilt/ solenoids. Motor wouldn,t turn over on either the old ones and the new ones. Unit just clicks and chatters....motor ran fine when i bought it last year, but trim nogo again and no fire, won't engage starter motor.....ideas??? Thanks Mike

The TT solenoids have nothing to do with starting. Troubleshoot the starting system, battery and all, to find the issue.

Thanks for that knowledge! Unfortunately the new solenoids didn't solve the trim not working, they merely click when I hit the tilt switch. There is also a clicking noise when I attempt to start the engine....is there a another solenoid for the starter motor? Thanks. Mike

Yes, the starter has its own solenoid, which apparently is clicking -- and probably working. Verify your grounds especially.
