Hi guys...i have a 90HP Nissan and just wondering, if my motor has been sitting for a few years out of the water not being used...do i have to take the lower end off and replace the impeller as preventative maintenance? As well, any idea where a schematic would be online so i make sure i do this all properly? Thanks so much!

Re: Nissan 90 Impeller?

I would consider changing it. They do dry-rot over time. Depends on the quality of the rubber (aftermarket impellers tend to be junky) as well as temperature and humidity. If an old impeller sits opened on the shelf, it is also affected by UV light from fluorescent lamps and daylight.
