Nissan 9.8 lack of power.

I just purchased a 02' Nissan 9.8hp that has less than 10 hours and looks brand new. The engine starts right up, runs smooth but lacks upper end power when compared to my other 8hp Tohatsu. The 8hp has no problem planing my Avon 310 RIB with 2 adults but the 9.8 struggles. Both engines have the same size prop. Any recommendations? Thanks

The 9.8 is sick. You will have to troubleshoot it to find out where to put the band-aid.
