Nissan 70hp 1993

I am currently looking at a skiff with this motor but the tilt/trim is not working. If it is a faulty motor is that a major repair and are parts going to be a pain to get? Anything else I should know about this problem before I pursue this boat/motor purchase further?

I've had mine apart and cleaned & re-assembled but it's a pain to do and risky. I broke the brush card on the original, found a used one and have had to clean it once. Corrosion/salt build-up causing the brushes to stick. A new motor costs a about the same as an aftermarket trim&tilt system. Best advice I can give you;buy a manual now, before you buy the boat.

Parts are available, but they do cost more than the U.S. outboard parts.
