Nissan 6hp no compression after repair

I had an issue with water getting in the oil of my Nissan 4 stroke 6hp longshaft. I took it to a mechanic who preceded to change all of the seals, 5 in total. Before i took it in it started fine, now he says no compression and it wont start. Any suggestions as to where to go from here? I am already in for 350 and would like to keep the costs down if at all possible

You had water in which oil, crankcase or lower unit ?

Possible to have overheated and wrecked a gasket, so OK to change gaskets. Now no compression? Hogwash. Either it was low before the gasket swaps, or it is not low now. Unless your mechanic either does not understand the starting decompressor, or maladjusted the rockers. You may quote me.
