I have a 1989 Nissan 40C with a problem I can't seem to fix. I have trouble starting the engine (either warm or cold) or keeping in running while idling. When its cold, I have to give it alot of choke to get it started (not real unusal I know). However, even when its warm, it will not start without going through a chocking process every time. I have to put the choke on, turn the key and I get one or two firings from the pistons, but no start of the engine. Then I take the choke off, put the free accelerator all the way up, and turn the key. Then, finally I can get it to start.
It also does not like to run at idle speed and will sometimes die when I try to accelerate from idle. It runs perfect at mid and high speeds though.
To me, its seems like a carb issue, but I put a brand new carb in a few months ago. I have also replaced the fuel pump, fuel tank, fuel lines, and spark plugs.
Any help wwould be appreciated.
