Hi,
We just tried our "new looking" Nissan 40C. The engine start very well (1/4 of rope pull, choke on) It runs very good, accelerate and hold speed very well. Compression is 110 per cylinder.
The only two thing that don't seem right are:
1-After having ran for about five minutes on iddle in foward, when you apply gas (wot) it shudder or hesitate (not sure of correct term) My feeling: I think it runs too rich?
2-The pitch of our prop is 11. We run this engine on a 14' inflatable (not rib) I goes to 31 mph at wot and it seems to rev very high, weight of the complete boat and passengers at trial were about 650 lbs. My feeling: try a 13 or even 14 pitch propeller.
Thanks for any advice.
Thanks again to Elvin (Tohatsu Guru) who helped for the parts and decals for the complete restoration of our engine, which looks super good in the actual Nissan style.
