Nissan 40 reed block melted?

The reed block to the bottom cylinder was melted and disfigured on the bottom reeds. Not letting the reeds close. I can not figure out how this could happen, execpt incorrect timing or a clogged up exhaust tube. Can someone help. Thank you for your help.

Could be anything in the cooling system. The engine can come out of time by itself...so if it's timing, then someone did it.
