Nissan 30hp 4stk carb question

I am planning to pull my carbs and give them a good cleaning. What is the white electrical thing that looks like a type of jet that sits on the top of the top carb. Nothing in the Nissan manual what it is or what is does. Is this something that I should replace when cleaning?

That is an auto-by-choke sender. Don't touch other than to remove it for cleaning.

Do you know where I can get a better tech-manual?
The local dealer here moved out of town now I'm stuck
doing my own service work and trouble shooting.
It's great to have this forum and such helpful people.
