Nissan 25hp Kill Switch

I have a 1994 Nissan 25hp electric start outboard. The guy I bought the boat from removed the kill switch and put in a push button that kills the motor when pushed. The button looks exactly like the start button, but I think he might have changed that too. I need a schematic on how to hook up the kill switch. Also, any suggestions on which switch to get? Thanks.

you can go to internetoutboards.com and click the link for the online parts catalogs. Then find the catalog which fits your model #. There are in PDF format and free of charge. That should help you figure out which switch came with the motor. As far as wiring it up, you may have to buy a service manual that has a wiring diagram. You might also check the owner's manual as some of them have wiring diagrams in the back of them (they're available for free in PDF on the Nissanmarine.com website)

buy any aftermarket killswitch, and just plug it in exactly where the current stop switch is .... same wires etc. ....
