Nissan 25 hp length short or long?

I bought a 1988 Nissan 25 hp ns 25 c2. Not sure if it's a short or longshaft? Measures 18 inches from where it rests on transom down to cavitation plate. Seems too long for a short shaft but too short for a longshaft? Thanks

Yes. Japanese motors are 2 or 3 inches longer than the old standard. It's a short.

Standard shaft. Also known as a short to be fair. Just some are like that back then
