Nissan 25 breaks linkage

My 2000 Nissan 25 2 stroke when I tried to start it, broke the linkage from the throttle to the advance. It was running with very little power and seemed to run on only one cyclinder. The carb has been cleaned twice. Replaced the water pump. Replaced gas tank and gas. Replaced plugs. Compression is over 110. Replaced linkage, it started, no power, turn off, tried to restart and linkage broke again.
Is this a timing problem? I am ready to make an anchor out of it, as I can normally fix things. It did run good last fall.

LInkages can not break by themselves, but depending on what you broke, you may have the engine out of time. Get a service manual and set the timing to spec.
