I have heard my dad say.. rest is sole, that if you want a job done right you have to do it YOURSELF. I believe in this case he's right on target...LOL So here goes.
1. Take everything yes! everything apart in module form and place each unit into a plastic buckets.
2. I then started to take each Module apart into little pieces starting with Carb then the power head inspecting all barrings rings..etc
3. Soak Carb pieces in sea foam overnight.
4. used CLR and soaked power head base to remove and clean away all or 99% all of water corrosion from all channels as seen in pictures.. I think it came out great! Cleaned and marked position and rings position and put into freezer for re-installation later time
5. Put Carb together with new kits.
6. Re-install equipment and piston back into power-head. Check for binding NONE.
Now awaiting for parts to arrive on Monday 13th.

If not mistaken and remember well the base gasket lays entirely flat against lower crankcase, place exhaust base on top gasket and torque, seems as seen on first pic that you already have bolted it to lower crankcase.

Plainly in agreement, if you are skilled and know what you are doing, nobody will do it better than yourself, mostly because counting with plenty of spare time, you are in no hurry and have monk patience. It's reconforting to have done a excellent job and engine starts at first pull. That engine has a fixed time, no need to adjust anything, except carb.

What don't get as you seem sufficiently mechanically skilled, is why the hell you sent than nice engine to that mechanic to lose money ending fixing it yourself much better than anybody else. Had same motor months ago, about to be used as a second anchor, with time and extreme patience managed to make it run again as a champ and runing untill now. Excellent simple engine to play mechanics.

I understand Sea Rider where you are coming from. However, There comes a time when you have to start delegating some of the projects or you will not have the time to enjoy your life..as it is, and should be. I can do everything and anything but, I also need to enjoy the fun things in life. Trust is something I gave the dealer/mechanic for over 10 some years with thousands of dollars.

However, tomorrow.. they will have to earn it!. That's if they want my business again. It's my fault for not validating their work and paying close attention to what they did. So, I put the blame on myself first. You know the old saying; F*** me once, shame on me.. But, F*** me twice.. Shame on you! I would like to see the good in people and go from there. The owner is going to sit down with me and talk soon. I think most likely he will probably give me a new motor free.. but will see.

In the meantime the mechanic today came over to give me a motor to use. Ya! just out of the blue.. came over.LOL

Best Regards, StarGazer I
