I had a bad dream last night, that's the only way I could characterize it!

I dreamed that I had put the Permanent Vacation in my signature in at the dock and later I looked and it was filling up with water. By the time I got to the beach to do something about it, it had sunk completely, submerged motor and everything. You know the way dreams are, I lifted it up onto the dock and it had a Mercury on it! I pulled the boat up and drained all the water out, floated & tied it up again and went away. OK, so I look again and it's doing the same thing, filling with water and sinking, so I get really mad. Where is all that water coming from?!?

I pull it out again and decide to really inspect it closely because a leak is a personal insult, and I had done everything possible to seal it up during the rebuild. I'm peering at it closely and see what the problem is...it's made of fiberglass, with zillions of tiny pinholes leaking and oozing the water in!!:eek::eek:

Is there a Freud in the house?:D:facepalm:

Lake I think the only fix for you is another Starcraft to work on. That would give you a real good case of MBS and that fixes all.

Could it have been the Ambien? That stuff is supposed to cause bad dreams about fiberglass boats. ;)

Fiberglass? Ouch! Maybe its your subconscious telling you its time for another boat! Aluminum of course, the whole fg part being a donor boat :D

LL - Are you subconsciously thinking Mercs turn tinnies into pin-holed FG? I'm gonna go knock on my tinnie and see. Will I need to re-power?

I don't know, but it was a 65 HP tiller. I'm shuddering to think about it! (Even though I own two Mercs!)

I don't think I'm conflicted. Am I? Yes. No. Oh, I don't know.

There is something to be said for FG boats!

Don't know what it was, but I'm one of those fortunate people who can fall asleep just about anytime anywhere.

I already have M & B, but I don't think I have S....yet!

maybe deep down, far back in the closet, you're a latent glassophile and you really want a FG boat:eek:

or else your subconscious is trying to tell you why you DON'T want a FG boat.....

Sounds like one of my dreams! lol! Thanks for sharing :)

I'd translate it into you just need to take her out more.. You aren't quite attached as much as you should or could be. Hence the sinking and reviving.. Hence the difference in the motor. You two(motor makes 3?) just need to bond a bit!

Now this sounds like real psychology. I like the way you think! Too bad, attaching will have to wait until spring...

Nightmares bring to the surface those things in our life that we fear yet suppress daily.
The boat sinking is easy to understand since you put so much into making sure it would not.
Your obvious disdain for Merc Outboards also shows when your prized rude is transformed into a motor you do not trust..
I am shocked it wasnt a FORCE or Chrysler...
The fiberglass...well...We all from time to time see a glasser that we know we would cruise in, and that part of the dream surely is guilt for not being able to say NICE BOAT to the glass guys.

Mine involve running over cow carcasses and then they are sucked up in a bright light into the sky from a UFO, while aliens randomly make my boat fly into pastures

Now there's one I'd like to see sometime. But I do own two reliable Mercs, so not sure about that part of your theory!

As mild as winter has been, I suggest you uncover her and sit at the helm, replicate all the actions of piloting your boat during an outing. If you can find enough open water at a launch, get her wet even if you don't go anywhere.

Repeat twice a day until the nightmares end.
