I was fishing for Muskie when this guy hit on a white Mepps Giant Killer. I thought for sure it was a ski the way it was fighting. Once it got close enough to see I was amazed it was a bass and the size of it. We catch football sized SMs all the time but never saw one like this before. I never weighed or measured it, just grabbed a pic and put her back.
Bonz it was up north in Vilas Co. They are in the river south of the Algonquin Dam for sure but I havent seen any this size. They say they are north of the Algonquin also but I have not seen any SM only LM between Algonquin and McHenry Dams.
