Almost put the heat on for the first time this morning. 59 deg F in the house at 5am. Sorry kids, throw a sweater on, your Dad is a bit thrifty... Maybe tomorrow!

We've gotten a lot of fog too in the last week. Temps are a little cool during the day for this time of year, but we haven't really "frosted" yet.

... I remember as a kid getting up, diving outta' bed to grab my clothes and then practically sitting on the register vent to stay warm while getting dressed. Unfortunately for my kids, the vents are on the ceilings ;)

40 this morning when i got up. I can remember when i was younger. I would get up in the morning and scrape frost/ice off the inside of the glass with my finger. Go down and stoke the coal furnace.

We had the old fuel oil stoves and a wood fireplace up north. It took FOREVER to heat the joint up, but once it was going it was nice and toasty.

Re: Nice fall, but to much fog! Now in the clouds

Its official, we now live in the clouds!!

No fog in the valley bottom, condensation on everything outside, hopefully when the sun comes out in 10 minutes it will make everything warmer and the clouds will burn off or sink.

35-40 deg F at night. 55-60 deg F during the day. Only thing heating the house is the refrigerator and the TV's so far. Last night I told my wife she is SO hot we don't need to light the furnace off!! She smiled and pointed at the thermostat...

Still didn't light off yet. 61 in the house this morning. Shooting for Nov 1 if I can keep the family from organizing a mutiny!
