Since we had a poll thread, I figured it was time for a game day thread. I was going to say, I hope it lives up to the hype, but around my neck of the woods they haven't said one word about the game!

So who has big plans for the game? What are you doing? What are you serving? Any other comments?

No big plans here. Just going to kick back and watch it with the family. We'll see how long the girls last. Although, they're looking forward to the commercials......

Golf shot gun in the morning and a mardi-gras themed Super Bowl party. We are bringing a King Cake we ordered from New Orleans and making Bourbon Milk Punch.

High 70's from now through the end of the weekend. Might reach 80. Perfect weather.

It better be the 49'ers taking home the trophy . . . because, I am going to be in Baltimore on business Tuesday - Wednesday. As a New England fan . . . I don't want to see a parade while I'm in Baltimore

Cool. Our hi is supposed to be 10?, not so perfect. Got an e-mail from a bud asking what I'm doing Sunday. Ahhhhhh Super Bowl! He wants me to plow a coarse on a lake for ice racing. I'm thinking they're racing bikes, but not until 2/9. I still need to reply....

Ha. Obviously a Packer fan who doesn't care if they aren't in there.

It'll be about 75 here. We're hosting a party and expect about 50 people. My only complaint is that it should be changed to Super Bowl Saturday so there isn't so much 'Bowl Flu' going around on Monday. :disillusionment:

I am not too excited about this Super Bowl. I am hoping the commercials are really good. A good reason to party :)

I saw a preview of a Volkswagon commercial . . . don't get your hopes up.

My all time favorite was the E-trade emergency room scene . . ." he's got money coming out the whazzooo"

Food and friends (probably 15 of us) :D The wife is making slow cooked ribs and various dips......there will be plenty of food, yelling, jumping around, and maybe even a bit of football watching!

Wine and beer to fuel and properly ready people for comments about the commercials and the prime demonstrations of "arm chair quarterbacking" !!!

Well my team is not playing, so don't care who wins this one. Going for the food and drink. Oh, go 49 niners. There I picked one.

Wings, atomic chili and a bottle of 14 Hands Merlot here. I'm pretty much a hermit so it will be a party of one, but it will be a party. Yeeha!

Got a question for you chefs though. I was looking through some wing recipes and found one for Thai Green Curry that intrigues me. The only thing is they say to roast the wings at 500? for 45 minutes. Doesn't that sound like a lot? I mean both temp and time. I've never done wings that hot. I guess I'll try a few wings at that setting and see whether or not I end up with charcoal. Keep you posted.

Ha! I hear ya. However, 6 inches of snow on the ground and temps in the low to mid teens leaves sitting in front of the TV about the only thing left.

Well, don't you want hot wings? :mad-new: Being the house chef, I did the smart thing and asked the wife. She said and I quote "Holy crap!!! Tell him to keep a fire extinguisher handy". LOL

Check some other recipes for the temp and time. She said look at wing recipes on The Food Channel. That one has a typo. Or it's really a charcoal recipe. Bon appetite.

I love Bobby Salters Cajun fried peanuts. Then we have a barbecued roast, chips, dip and Coors light beer

Mrs Ken and I going to our local casino superbowl party. Invited by one of our friends who is a high roller member there. We get a lot of those invites and get free food and drink at these events without spending a dime gambling :D Heck we sometimes get a free room as well. Nice to have when you never spend a penny in the place. Anyway huge room with 4 huge screens in place. Next superbowl will be in our home "Pub" as it will be completely finished by then. :D

Sorry to hear, bassman284. I am fortunate to be in south fla. Lived in the frozen tundra once and decided it wasn't for these toes.
