I recently took a chance and purchased an 16'sailboat without knowing anything of it's origins. The sails have MVA 207 on them. The gentleman I purchased the boat from called it a Mcveigh daysailer. It is not a daysailer. I'm lead to believe it may have originated from a fiberglass boat manufacturer from Luneburg, Nova Scotia called Mcveigh. I have hit a dead end. Can anyone lead me in the right direction?

Manfred,

I have moved your topic to the sailboat section. There are avid reeaders of that section that may be of some help.

Re: Newly purchased Sailboat

There should be a plate on the boat somewhere with the manufacturer's name and related info. I did a google search on McVeigh sailboats, and got no response. I used to have a Tanzer 16' day sailer made in Montreal, and it was a dandy boat.

Do you have any specific questions about the boat? Why do you say it is not a day sailer? "Day sailers" are a pretty broad range of small boats.

John
