This far…has anyone been aware of any running issues caused by the vapour separator tank or its internals, like pump etc ? In particular the newer 2.1l engines ? I think I’m going to have a look at mine, after it’s been suggested as coming into light as possibly needing looked at every now and then. I’ve got the occasional stumble in the rpms on my engine just recently, usually anything between 1000-2000 rpm most noticeably. Went through all the usual suspects with fuel system so far (apart from checking tank pick up physically…due to access and being still in the season…and the massive job it is to get to it). I’m likely at the sharp end of discovering new issues with these newer engines, having put 1200 hours on her in 3 years
. Been faultless up until now and likely it’s as a result of ethanol affected fuel gathering in the v tapered bottom of the tank perhaps. But hoping avoid lifting the floor until winter. The vapour tank and it’s pump filter is the only thing I haven’t looked at other than the tank. Evidently runs much better with more fuel in the tank…so think the greater head of pressure with more fuel is helping it along in this case. But low fuel and it gets worse.
Sorry to drone on…but just trying to rule out all other possibilities…other than the inevitable!
