Newbie questions

Im fairly new to the sport of PWC's I have a 2000 Yamaha SUV 1200. Two questions. The ski has about 54 hours on it, Im not sure what the previous owner has done as far as routine maintenence. In general terms what kind of maintenence does it need assuming it hasnt had any lately? (or at all) Also, I picked up a little mud through the intake while at the lake today and some small rocks it blew right through the jet and only lasted for a second or so. Anything I should be concerned about? I motored over to the dock afterwards it seemed to be fine. Thanks much.

PWC's are powered by a pump that has tight clearances inside. You do not want to ingest anything hard into your pump. It could be very expensive. <br />If you spike your motor while in shallow water you can vacuum up stones and other destructive debris from the bottom. <br />Either stay out of the shallows or motor thru' them very slowly.<br />Charlie
