Newbie Question about Boat Plugs

I just purchased an 84 Glassport from someone who never used it. It is my first bass boat. There seems to be some plugs missing. There are three holes directly below the motor. One has what looks to be a more permanent plug (caulked around it). The one in the lower center is too small for the replacement plug I bought at Wal-Mart. The one on the right (directly across from the one with the plug) is too big for the plug I bought. Any idea what all these wholes are and where I can find the right size plugs?

Re: Newbie Question about Boat Plugs

Since this is a bass boat, it probably has live wells and two of the three holes are probably fill/drain holes and should not be plugged. There are two basic sizes of plugs. One for the hole in the live well, and a larger one for the bilge drain. One of the holes is the bilge drain and unless you want a submarine, it should have a plug in it.

Thanks. I think I have figured out which one is the live well hole and I am pretty sure I am pretty sure I know which one is the bilge drain. The odd thing is that this whole is too small for the larger plug and too large for the smaller plugs that are in the live wells. It also has threads in it.

Pour some water into the bilge and watch which one drains.
My drain is threaded and and take a pipe plug. Either a 3/8 pipe or maybe a 1/2 pipe plug should work. It has a square end on it for a wrench.
They are real cheap at the hardware store.
They others as you have figured are intake and drain for the liewells.

turn on the water hose and stick it into the live well, also in the bilge.

The hole that is caulked over, is probably the fill or drain for the livewell.

The pipe inside the boat may have a leak, so they caulked it shut to prevent the boat from filling with water.
