Hi guys,

bought my first boat and have a question. I've got a 1981 18ft Beachcraft with a mid '80's (I'm guessing) 200hp Mercury black max outboard. I know I have to mix fuel and oil 50:1. Am I ok to use regular 87 to fill it up with? Do I just dump the oil in with the fuel or is there a resevoir somewhere? If the oil goes in the gas tank does it actually have to be physically mixed somehow? If anyone can tell me more about my motor in general that'd be great and how to ID what year it is.

Thanks!

To get the year we need a serial number and is the oil injection still working on your 200? If it was disabled you need to manuially add it to the gas tank. If it still has the oil injection, there should be a oil tank somewhere that holds the oil.

You may have already discovered this, but you can edit the header of your own posts by first clicking on the "advanced" button, when in edit mode.
