Newbie needs advice!!!!

Hey guys, I just bought my first boat a few months ago and the family and I love it!!! However I am having some issues that were pointed out to me by another. I currently have a 20ft, 1980 Galaxy with a 120HP motor. I bought this with an 800 series outdrive. YES, 800, not the 400 series which it is suppose to have. Im aware that there is a gear difference. My max RPM's Im getting at full throttle is between 2200 and 2800. I am averaging 2600 Rpm at a top speed of 17 MPH, with only one other person in the boat... There is currently a 15 1/2 x 13 Prop on it now. I checked the compression on the motor and I'm near 150 on all 4 cylinders. The motor idles smooth and the carb seems to be fine. So my question is how do I go faster??????? Thanks a bunch for your help in advance!!! Shawn

Could it be my fuel filter needs changed or my choke is stuck in the open position?????? Once I hit half throttle, it stays the same from half throttle to WOT...I could really use some help guys, thanks!!
