Looking at my first boat and I have always liked the looks of the vintage runabouts that my Uncle had as a kid. To make a long story short, I have a line on a very clean looking '65 Starcraft Runabout(I believe)with a strong running 65hp Evinrude. Owner has maintained the boat well from the look of things and I can probably snap this one up for about $700.00 with the trailer.

Are there any major things I should look for on this boat to make sure it does not turn into a money pit? Sorry if I am asking what seems to be an obvious question.

If this was a motorcycle, I would be in my element. thanks in advance.

Joe I gave $800.00 for my 70 Starcraft Jupiter V 16'er and it was in need of a full resto. The main things to look t are does it run,is the deck solid, hows the wood in the transom and last but not least how bad does it leak when its put in the water :D. Ok other than that mke sure no idiots installed aftermarket stringers through the hull thats pretty much it.

Rick, thanks for the info. I am going back again in a couple of days to really give it a good going over. I will take and post pics as well. Have gathered a great deal of info from this site and fiberglassics and am VERY excited to own this boat....
