I saw you already found the Glastron forum. If you have a specific question, ask it. There are lots of members who'd be happy to help.

Re: newbie here any glastron owners

We had a '02 Glastron GX205 until end of last summer. We used it for 9 seasons and absolutely loved it. We never had any major issues with the boat or power plant. Our boating lifestyle had changed some so we changed boats.

I did have to replace several of the toggle switches. Not sure which years Glastron used the type we had but they would eventually either be On when switched Off or not turn On at all. It was worse when we would leave boat out on lake while camping and it rained. They were silver toggle switches with little red lights on tips to indicate the switch was turned on.

The "Trailer" switch will lift outdrive to its highest position for trailering. When you are running on lake, you can only trim the outdrive to about 1/2 its highest position or it puts undue stress on u-joints connecting motor to outdrive. On our '02 Glastron, I could only trim to about 1/4 and the prop would "blow out" or start spinning like a car losing traction. Sometime the "trailer" position is also called tilt. (I think I have the terms right :) )

The run/off switch is for a lanyard that would clip to your person when operating boat. If a wake/wave bounced you bad and you fell down losing control of the boat, the lanyard would pull lose and kill engine. You can buy replacement lanyards but there are few different styles to connect to the kill switch. It is a safety item that you choose to use or not. I'm bad and have rarely used it with the Glastron. Since I stand and drive the Tidewater more, I do use the lanyard more.

Wow, lots of questions here. Better take a boating safety course man!

Blower is to blow out of the bilge any gas fumes. VERY important!

Anchor and Nav are light with different configuration whether you're anchored or navigating.

Bilge and Acc are swith to active your bilge pump and you accesories.

I LOVE MINE!:D

Just remember to put the drive down BEFORE starting engine!
And also, when starting initially, when you put her in the water.......
That "button" on the outside/bottom of the handle is used to dis-engage the drive so you can prime the carb and put it in high idle for starting a cold engine.
Just push that button in with your left hand and hold it while you actuate the throttle forward 3-4 times and then leave it in the half **** forward position. Turn engine over until it starts and let it run that way for a minute or so to warm up. When your ready to go, bring the throttle back to center/neutral position.;)

Back to the blower. Always run the blower for 5 mins before starting and while idling. Very important. Other wise your boat may go BOOM! Also try to keep your revs down to 2000rpm or lower while in neutral, especially on cold starts. You'll love the Glastron. I loved my '03 185 SF 4.3 since it was new. Sold it last year though unfortunatley
