Newbie ? Changing Trim sender and limiter on Volvo Pentra 4.3

Local shop is charging me $300. $200 for labor and $100 for parts. 3 hours estimated time. Is this a easy job which I can do it myself or does it require a professional and special tools. I did some research. However, afraid to attempt. Any help and opinion would be appreciated.

You need a service manual to do any self repairs. That'll tell you if it looks like something you can tackle!

If it's a 95 or newer with the SX style drive it's not to technically challenging for the trim sender. The main problem is access in the boat. The wires come through the transom hsg and have a clip that holds them inplace. On some boats this can be a real bear to get back on due to boat in the way.
