Hello,
I recently picked up a pontoon with a 70 HP Mercury outboard serial number 6231084. In my searching I would assume that this engine is to be considered a '82 model year. Is this correct and if so, where can I can find a manual for this particular engine.
Also, I know this topic has been hit many times but I need to winterize the engine correctly soon as our season is now over up here in ND. My first question, after draining the lower end gear lube how much lube is required to be considered full and will I need anything else other than marine gear lube?
I've got 5 gallons of gas mixed in the fuel tank and another 5 gallons in a plastic can. (wish they weren't already mixed) What should I add to the tanks of gas to stabalize the gas over for the next 6 months, Sea Foam? I believe I should add the stablizer and run the engine to ensure the treated gas gets into the lines? Also, when I pull it out in the spring would it be a good idea to siphon out the majority of the old gas and replacing with fresh gas and then mixing the old gas with fresh gas on future tanks?
Lastly, what is fogging the cylinders? What is the correct procedure and where do I find the fogger?
-THANK YOU
