Hi, just acquired boat at Chi. show after years of renting. 2005 Tracker 17WT. I have a few q's. Mostly to use n wisconsin lakes/flowages. I intend to keep for some time.

1. It comes with low end Lowrance. I want to upgrade to gps unit. (I think) Is color worth it? Suggestions?

2. I got Merc 90 (pre-optimax) Should i push for upgrade to Optimax.

3. What is a good anchor system? Are the power ones worth it? I can live with crank, put power from the drivers seat seems cool.

Thanks for any ideas.

Welcome to iboats !! Good luck with the new rig.Sounds great. When it comes to electronics,it all depends what you are planning on doing with it.Motor sounds sufficient.A drop anchor set up is cheap and perfect for a 17 ft.Save the power anchor setup for next year when you get the itch for a bigger boat.Charlie

Unless you are physically challenged you don't need a power anchor. On a 40'er maybe.

Welcome to iboats.

Consider getting a chartplotter/gps/mapping unit, About $400-$500, but well worth it.
Keep the fish finder.
