I bought a bass boat. Begining of spring. Now I'm hooked. I bought 1982 marquis. Got shafted on deal. Ripped floors up n whole thing rotted transom and all ..so I'm selling the 2.5 merc and outdrive. What's it worth... And my main question..I found 1983 Four Winns cuddy. Very excellent shape in n out. Always garages kept. Has a 305. Needs engine repair. Not big deal for me. Been mechanic for twenty years. Is it worth 1000 to purchase. Plzz advice would be kind.

I bought a bass boat. This spring now I'm hooked. So I bought a 1982 marquis cuddy. And got shafted. The whole floor rotted and transom. My own fault. But the motor runs good. 2.5 merc 120 HP how much is the motor and outdrive worth. And my big question is. I found 1983 Four Winns cuddy. With 305 merc. That has been garages kept and is in excellent shape in and out.. but needs engine work. Not big deal for me. I'm a mechanic. But is it worth a 1000. Dollars. It is like in mint condition. Other than motor needing work.

$1,000 buck for a 30 year old boat with no engine? (I understand there's one there, but no guarantees what kind of shape it's really in) - I guess in my book boat and trailer would have to be pretty spectacular looking. Really, if it's in excellent shape maybe between $500 and $1,000 - but really, it's a project boat and I'd be trying to get it under $500.
