With the "hole shot" that beast of a boat is capable of (or lack thereof), the fight to get up on the skis must have been interesting.

I think all you have to do is ask yourself is "have I ever done anything just cuz?" If you answer yes, then you should get it.

I actually think that is pretty dang cool. and I bet it was a ton of work just like they note at the end of the video. When I read the title of this thread yesterday I thought "145 MPH", didn't grab me that much. Checked into it this AM, and I love it!! I wanted to know how many fell, and I am guessing 5 (150-5=145) Not sure, but I saw three or four bite it in the video. The poor guy (or gal) who fell to the right just as they get started is pounding the water with their fist. Bummer.

Now I would have really been impressed if they had done it on single skiis. Years ago I skied 5 single skiis behind my 20 ft 302 runabout. I was one of the skiers. What a hoot. You had to hang on for dear life on the pull out. Once up it was a breeze.

One of the skiers was about 230 lbs. The rest of us were probably about 160. The boat only pulled 4 skiers out of the water. I came up with two sets of ropes. My 230 lb friend came up behind his own boat then skied over and grabbed my second set of handles. We probably skied 15 miles down the lake like that. You could turn your ear into the wind and hear that poor V8 screaming.

Ah, to be young again!!

You have the option of a pitch 1 or a pitch 2 propeller only to do something like this! LOL I personally would have used one of those hybrid tugs. Tons of horsepower+not too bad acceleration. Anyone else notice how much it would have sucked to be the skiers on the top of the wake?

I'm sure there were cables from the poles to the front of the boat.
That's what we did when we built a barefoot boom on the boss's SeaRay growing up.

Speaking of that SeaRay.. It was a 20' SeaRay with a built 350 Merc.
We pulled up nine skiers one time. After the first lap, we all dropped a ski as we
passed the beach. It didn't last long after that.

The real danger is having a longer rope dancing alongside of you.

There were definitely lines to the bow. Multiple ones you can see if you look closely.
