Anybody downloaded and tried Windows 7 yet? Whatcha think? It's supposed to correct some of the gotchas in Vista.

Re: New Windows

I'd like to, but I really don't have new enough hardware to give it a fair shake.

Re: New Windows

Win7...well lets see...oh yea, I thought about giving it a spin and then my dad's words came back to me, loud and clear...you can't wise up a sausage and you can't polish a xxxx....I decided to lay down until the feeling went away. Seriously, I can't tell you how many brand new systems I have back peddled and downgraded to Win Xp upon customer request. For those on the fringe, Google Windows XP Ice. It's a hacked version without all the bloat ware from MS. I find it really a sad thing that the powers that be at MS have chosen to dump XP later this year, leaving only Vista and their new offering '7'. Open architecture OS's are sounding better everyday.

Edit language.

Re: New Windows

I'm sure it will be a free upgrade, for users conned into using Vista - NOT

We all knew it would happen, Microsoft is becoming just like General Motors.

XP was a great operating system, probably one of their best Windows versions. But hey, are you going to run it forever? Of course not. GM can't build a car that would last forever. How would they stay in business? ( oh wait, they are drowing anyway)

Microsoft needs to make continous revenue. Since they already make great software, the next logical step it so make BLOATWARE, and make sure that their's and other applications, also require continous upgrades, as they become BLOATWARE also.

Unfortunately, it's the future of MS based software.

Re: New Windows

Trying to go Linux.
Gotta use Windows at work...still on XP, but I only have a narrow focus working on servers which are always a couple generations behind.
