today i finally decided to change out my thoroughly rusted out 1500 lb manual winch.
the old one was basically welded to the trailer
so out comes the hacksaw....
about 2 hours later, i managed to saw through
all the fused metal and bolts. what a job!
the new 1800lb winch went on in about 10 mins.
only problem(maybe not) is the hook winds up
right onto the winch, a fairly snug fit.

are you supposed to move the mast ?
all those bolts are rusted out as well !

Re: new winch

Ayuh,........

It Sounds like you'll be needing to move the Winch Stand Forward,..........

Do you have an Electric Grinder,..???
How about a Drill,..???..

Either of those with the right Cutting Wheel,+ a Hammer,......
Should make Quick Work of the Rusted Bolts..........

Re: new winch

you may have to put a new winch stand on with a longer bow stop. the bow stop is suppose to be over (on top of) the bow hook.. this is SUPPOSE to stop the boat from moving forward in a quick stop.
