Hello all:

Got into a bit of a quandry. I purchased a new truck last week. I wanted to take the boat out this next week, but I realized when looking (of course too late) that my truck is not wired for trailer lights. I am leaving tomorrow (Saturday) and am wondering - is this something that can be done relatively easily by the layman (moi) in a short amount of time?

Your thoughts are welcome and appreciated.

depending on the model of truck you can goto walmart and get and adapter for about 25 to 30 bucks that takes all of the guess work outta fig out lights, just plug in and go...

Re: new truck / trailer quandry

I apologize for not providing more info. My truck is a 90 dodge ram W150 4X4. There appears to be a set of wires going to the license plate (plate illuminators). If I was to purchase an adaptor cheap from Wal Mart, is this where it would hook up to?

When you buy the adapter it will come with instructtions on how to install it. Most likely there is a "plug" under the truck that will have to be seperated and the adapter simply plugs in line with the two ends of that set of wires.

Dodge pickup, the wire harness should run up the drivers side, the spilt point is located almost directly below the drivers side tail light. Look up from underneath. you will see it.
