New trailer wiring question

I recently upgraded from a non-brake trailer to a disc brake trailer. The model is 5-Starr if that matters. I drive a Pathfinder tow vehicle and currnetly have a 4-pin flat connector.
I read in some other topics about the trailer with brakes having 5-pin connector (the 5th being the brake solenoid) and about tapping into the reverse back-up light wire to get another connection for this last wire. My question is, how and where do I access this wire in my vehicle? The current connector is all hard wired in. I figured I could either go with the 4-pin to 4-pin with a single to single brake attachment OR simply a 5 to 5 depending on whether I wan tto dunk my lights while on.
If anyone can help with the specifics of correctly wiring the truck to meet the trailer I would appreciate it.

Re: New trailer wiring question

Unhook the tail light and find the reverse light and wire. Trace the reverse wire back to a point you want to splice into it. Then get yourself one of these:

Don't forget if you have electric brakes you will have to add the brake module to your tow truck or the brakes on the trailer won't work. I found from experience that going to the round 6 wire connectors is the best route, that flat hookup with the extra wire always getting hung up and ripped apart. (just my tow cents worth) :D
