For the best learning curve should we tow with the hook on the back of the boat or the waketower. We will be attempting to learn on combo skis. I have never skied but we have one person with experience from quite some time ago.

I have not tried to ski yet from my waketower, but I would imagine it to be a little easier. Once you get good at it and try to slalom or something, then you may want it down low on the ski hook.

Old time skier here, never tried a tower but it might pull you out of the water easier?

I've never had a tower but as far as I know, they are mainly for getting bigger air when jumping the wake. The difference in the angle of the rope would be minimal when starting so I don't think that there would be an appreciable difference.

Beginner skiers on a relatively short rope are easier to get up from a tower. Part of it is less spray from the rope. Part is the slight up lift.

I tried my wake tower, felt like it was trying to launch me into space when crossing the wake. I guess it might make it easier to get up, but probably won't make much difference either way when first starting out.
