Hi everyone !

I have this little motor, it's 10 years old, well here is how it runs.

It won't idle good, the carb was cleaned by a shop 1 month ago. Seems to idle ok at high idle but not low idle, maybe the idle is to far down, the guy told me to turn the gold screw counter clockwise, i did this and it seemed to run better for a short while, i think.

It runs good i just don't let the throttle all the way down,

but the other thing it does - except just at about 1/3 or less up the throttle it has a quick little bog or hesitation..

Thanks !

Idle speed is adjusted CW to achieve higher revs, not CCW which lessens them, mixture screw can be adjusted CW & CCW. Have you tried a new plug to correct hesitation. My 5 HP used to do that, but with no issues at any other throttle setting. Are you using internal or external fuel tank feed ? Being an old motor, have you changed impeller recently ?

If engine is dying at slow idle when fully warmed up, adjust idle screw CW enough so that when you move shift lever to forward, engine doesn't stall. Readjust if needed till this condition is met.

Happy Boating
