I just got this motor yesterday. On my way home the the grocery store yesterday I stopped in the country to observe a flock of wild turkeys. When I was there a truck pulled up and stopped curious to what I was looking at, and I pointed out the turkeys. He was towing a boat. Well we got talking and I found out he was taking the boat & motor to the scrap yard. He was keeping the trailer. The boat itself was in bad shape as the raccoons tore it it pretty bad. But the motor looked pretty good. I was told it ran great but there was a problem with the power trim that he was told a shop would charge $2000 to repair so he was scraping it also. After talking to him he agreed to bring the boat, motor and trailer to my place for me to remove the motor and controls. He is coming back in a couple days to pick up the boat and trailer. Hooked up a battery to the motor an it turns over fine. No chance yet to check out anything else. I will pick up a manual before going to much further. Motor very clean under the cowling and looks well cared for.
As for price - FREE (I'll get him a case of beer.)
I may have some questions in the future.
If the motor is beyond repair I can't lose because there are lots of parts worth some money. Props even in good shape. Spent some time today preparing the motor for removal. Just waiting for the brother inlaw to to bring the boom truck over to lift the motor off the boat.

WOW!!!! You had better get him a case of beer,Maybe a carton of smokes to go along with that!!!!!!! Sweet looking 90 there. Get a compression test, change the impeller, and try to see if she will give you a fire. Looks like a $1000 dollar motor at least, but if not, I'd personally be interested in the wraparound cowl, and the face plate...Let me know what you find Cheers - Bob
