Hello all, I have purchased a folding trailer with electric brakes and have no idea how they work. My boat trailer has four wires on a flat connector and my new RV has six on a round plug. I have and adapter that connects my four plug to the six plug which allows the brake lights, running lights and turn signals to work properly. Does this mean the electric brakes will also be working or do I need a controller? Will I need to do anything else to the wiring for the battery on the trailer to charge as well?Thank you for any help

You will need a controller, kinsmen, to control how much braking your trailer will do. Otherwise the trailer will either not brake at all or will lock the brakes every time you touch the pedal.

The controller allows you to adjust the amount of braking to keep the trailer from pushing your tow vehicle without dragging it.
