New to Boats need some help with my Mercury

Hey guys Im new to boats and was wondering if I could get some help.

I recently got given and old 1967 Caribbean Sea Sprite with Mercury outboard.

The engine the boat came with was an old Mercury 35HP I believe this one

I've recently accquired a newer (still old) 50HP Mercury with tilt and trim that Im going to fit to the boat however I have no idea what model it is I have looked on your links and am confused because I can't find the model no. which is 8055862.

Im looking for this information because I'm trying to find out if the control box off the 35HP will fit the newer engine I know the plugs are the same but I can't figure out how and if the throttle cables fit.

8055862 looks like a 1985 model. You don't need the actual model number as Merc just uses the serial number.
